THEATRE
PROMOS
I've been fortunate to bring a filmic style to theater promos across the Bay Area, embracing the unique aesthetics of each production. From the intense energy of Billy Elliot aggressive dance scenes to the stylized sophistication of The Gentleman's Guide To Murder and the epic grandeur of Les Misérables, I thrive on capturing the essence of these diverse shows.
I believe theater trailers shouldn't be confined to one-camera, back-of-house footage.
If it's a video, let's make it cinematic—something that truly captivates the viewer.
TheatreWorks sought a fresh approach to visual promotion for their shows, and I’ve had the privilege of bringing that vision to the Bay Area over the past few years.
After pitching my ideas, they gave me creative freedom to film as I envisioned and encouraged me to increase video output at a time when most theaters weren’t doing so.

Winner of the 2019 Tony Award for Best Regional Theatre
In 2019, TheatreWorks secured a 15-second spot on national TV to promote their Tony Award win. With just a series of photos, a voiceover, and the broadcast specs in hand, I produced a national TV spot within two days, delivering it to the network. It aired during the Tonys.
"They Promised Her the Moon" is an incredible script. From the moment I read this story about a pivotal moment in the history of the American space program, I knew exactly how I wanted to approach it.
I envisioned capturing the lead character’s visions and childhood in a 16mm Terrence Malick style, cross-cutting these with scenes of her in the blackness of the sensory deprivation chamber, eventually transitioning to her in space. Despite the intense time constraints with the performers, I'm extremely proud of how this trailer turned out.
ADDITIONAL THEATREWORKS VIDEOS:
From the cool blues of The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, to a parent's VHS tape of their children's holiday show in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, to the bowties, corsets and stylish jewels of An Ideal Husband, I was allowed the chance to help represent these shows both in keeping with the branding of the theatre and the individual style of each piece.

Theaters are starting to recognize the immense power of video content as a marketing tool. It’s no longer confined to a single theater or its marketing department—it extends far beyond that.
With each video, you’re creating twenty more opportunities for your show to be seen, multiplied by the number of social platforms it’s shared on, and amplified by every share.
By creating more than one video—a trailer, cast interviews, musical numbers, and more—you exponentially increase the chances of filling seats.
